Earlier this September, Brut Eatery Shanghai hosted an Experience Day as part of the ‘Olives · Spain’s Superfood’ initiative, a campaign funded by ICEX and INTERACEITUNA. The event was an interactive experience that showcased the versatility of Spanish olives through hands-on workshops. Guests, guided by talented chefs and bartenders, experimented with pairing olives with cheese, anchovies, and chili peppers, and even got creative with cocktails.
Mr. Regino Serrano from the Economic & Commercial Office of Spain in Shanghai kicked off the Experience Day event with a speech, sharing insights into Spain’s rich olive-growing traditions and the variety of olives they produce.
This experience took a step beyond traditional tastings, offering a session where participants learned to marinate and prepare Spanish olives. The unique fusion of flavours—ranging from bitter and salty to tangy and spicy—exemplified the endless potential of this Mediterranean treasure.
