The EU Dehydrated Fodder Campaign at J Agri Tokyo 2024

The EU Dehydrated Fodder campaign, organised by the Spanish fodder association (AEFA) and the Italian fodder association (FILIERA) with aid from the EU, has recently reached an important milestone with its participation at J Agri Tokyo 2024, one of Japan’s largest livestock and farming exhibitions.

Held from October 9-11 at the Makuhari Messe convention centre in Chiba, this event brought together over 650 exhibitors and nearly 36,000 industry professionals from Japan and around the world.

As the implementing body for this campaign, our team worked hard to highlight the benefits of EU dehydrated fodder for Japan’s agricultural sector. With Japan’s increasing demand for high-quality, sustainable feed that supports livestock health and helps with costs—especially in the dairy industry—this campaign is more relevant than ever.

We had the chance to connect with a variety of professionals, from farmers and importers to distributors and government officials. The interest at the EU booth was strong, with many visitors keen to learn about how the dehydration process enhances the nutritional value of fodder.

We were also happy to see a lot of curiosity about the EU’s quality standards and sustainability practices, which sparked some great conversations about future educational opportunities.

As we move forward, the EU Dehydrated Fodder campaign plans to host workshops, seminars, and study trips to Europe. These activities will provide Japanese industry professionals with great insights into crop management and production standards. This three-year project, running until 2026, is designed to foster ongoing exchanges of knowledge that can strengthen Japan’s feed industry.
