The EU Pork, The Smart Choice campaign, led by Interporc and FILPORC and co-funded by the EU, organised a study trip for seven Vietnamese food industry professionals last month.
Over five days, the delegation travelled through Spain and Portugal, visiting five production facilities and meeting local industry representatives. The visits offered a close look at how European pork is produced, from modern processing operations to the safety and traceability systems that support every stage of production.
Beyond the facility tours, the trip created space for genuine exchange. The Vietnamese delegation shared insights into local market trends and consumer preferences, while companies gained a clearer understanding of the Vietnamese market ahead of potential product introductions.
There were many stops along the way to discover all that EU pork has to offer: Barcelona, Girona, Riudellots and Vigo in Spain, then Lisbon and Évora in Portugal. Huge thanks to all our hosts in these cities who welcomed us and the delegation with generosity and hospitality.
This was all possible thanks to the great Quyen Nguyen and the EU Pork team for their hard work and support, including Sofía Gassino, Jose Tena, Amber and Rubén Martínez Gómez.
