China joins the Apostille Convention! No more legalisation of documents needed

Good news for those dealing with documents between China and other countries. On March 8, 2023, China joined the Convention Abolishing the Requirement of Legalisation for Foreign Public Documents.

Starting November 7th, 2023, China will be part of the Apostille Convention. This is a big step forward!

So, what does this change mean?

1. Easier Paperwork: Before, if you wanted to use an official paper from another country in China, there were many steps. Now, with the Apostille stamp, it’s much simpler.

2. Time and Money Saved: You don’t need to go through the Chinese Embassies abroad or pay extra fees. The Apostille stamp makes things faster and cheaper.

Remember, starting November 7th, if you have an Apostille stamp on your document, it will be accepted in China. Chinese Embassies abroad will stop providing legalisation services.

This is a big help for many people and businesses. Our HR staff is ecstatic about the change, as getting visas and work permits for foreign staff will be quicker.

Always good to see things getting simpler!
