This July, the EU Dehydrated Fodder by AEFA Asociación Española de Fabricantes de Alfalfa Deshidratada – ALFALFA SPAIN and Filiera Italiana Foraggi campaign, funded by the EU, had an intensive agenda in Vietnam.
We started in Hanoi with two leading European animal nutrition experts, Pablo Llorente Sánchez and Jose Manuel Vidal, joining our EIBENS team to meet the Animal Husbandry Association of Vietnam (AHAV) and Vietnam Ruminant Husbandry Association (VINARUHA) two organisations representing a huge share of the country’s farmers.
Next, we headed to Ho Chi Minh City, where the experts, alongside Luis Machín Álvarez (AEFA) and Nguyen Quoc Dat (Vice-President, AHAV South), delivered a workshop to 30+ industry players, importers, feed producers and farmers, talking about the advantages, applications and market opportunities of EU fodder, focussing on how they can boost Vietnam’s dairy sector.
The final part of the visit took us to the field, literally. The group visit NUTIMILK and DA LAT MILK, two of Vietnam’s largest dairy producers. Hands-on workshops and farm tours combined with technical exchanges helped both sides gain a clearer understanding of how EU dehydrated fodder can raise production standards and strengthen long-term growth.
The visit to the farms brought a quieter, more hands-on pace. Stepping away from meeting rooms and presentations, the group had the chance to observe daily routines and speak directly with those working in the field. These moments offered a meaningful glimpse into the real challenges and efforts behind Vietnam’s dairy production.
