Paris was the starting point for a week that took a Korean industry delegation through France and Portugal, from meeting rooms to cutting plants, cold stores and charcuterie facilities.
The study trip ran from 30 August to 5 September under the “European Pork. Pork in Style” campaign, led by INAPORC and FILPORC and co-funded by the European Union. The 14-person delegation included 12 representatives from Korean meat companies and two from charcuterie businesses.
At INAPORC’s headquarters, the group met representatives from six French companies. The format was simple: focused 12-minute B2B meetings to introduce their businesses, compare product requirements and identify possible areas for cooperation.
The journey then continued through Brittany, Porto and Lisbon, with visits to five pork and charcuterie companies across France and Portugal. Participants followed different stages of production and saw how European standards for quality, food safety, traceability and sustainability are applied in practice.
Technical discussions often continued over meals hosted by the companies, giving both sides more time to understand each other’s markets and priorities.
Thanks to Alba Patiño Díaz and Jose Tena for accompanying the delegation, and to every company that opened its doors to the group along the way.
The route ended in Lisbon. The conversations now have somewhere to go next.
