From September 16th to 20th, we had the pleasure of executing a mission for Chinese buyers as part of the “EU Pork, the Smart Choice” Campaign, organised by INTERPORC and FILPORC with aid from the EU.
A delegation of ten professionals from all across China joined us to explore the pork industry in Spain and Portugal, touring some of the leading pork production regions. During the study trip, the group visited pork producers in Girona, Zaragoza, Porto, and Lisbon, gaining insights into European pork’s commitment to sustainability, food safety, animal welfare, traceability, quality, and taste. Outside the formal agenda, the cultural exchange was a highlight! The delegation enjoyed delicious local food while immersing themselves in the culinary traditions of both countries. Each stop reminded us that the best way to understand the quality of European pork is by tasting it—and we certainly did!
We are proud to be part of this initiative, helping to showcase the exceptional quality of European pork and facilitating valuable connections between producers and Chinese importers.
This is the first study trip mission of the year in this campaign, with two more upcoming missions from the Philippines and Vietnam touring the EU soon
